4th Annual Poker Tournament

4th ANNUAL POKER TOURNAMENT

Hello Poker Players,
I just wanted to get the word out to save the date for the next Hollywood / Los Feliz Kiwanis Club’s Annual  Charity Poker Tourney (or more simply, the HLFKCACPT).  This year the event will take place on Sun, Feb 21st, at 3pm.  We’ll be back in the basement of the Hollywood Lutheran Church in Los Feliz.

Who Can Play: All are welcome to play, regardless of experience level.  The average skill level will be…. average.
Buy-in: It’s a super low $40 buy-in.
Register: via PayPal by Feb 8th  for a 40% bump to your starting stack.  Send the $40 to rjmfinancial@gmail.com on paypal, and use the Friends/Family option so it’s free.  We give the bonus chips to early payers as a bonus for helping us budget the event properly and purchase the prizes with event money, rather than dip into our charitable account.  Paying early helps us…. a lot.  If you don’t like payapl just let me know and we’ll work it out.
Prizes: $700 for 1-4th, and 4 $25 bounties.
It’s after the Super bowl, Valentine’s Day and the Grammy’s so you probably don’t have anything cool to do that Sunday night in February, so come on out.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Rob

California Health Improvement Plan - Save the Date

Public Health 5-Year Plan Presentation

Gayle Haberman, Director, Office of Planning, Evaluation, and Development, Los Angeles County Department of Public Health is pleased to announce that the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) for Los Angeles County is now available at: http://www.lapublichealth.org/plan/docs/CHA_CHIP/CHIPforLACounty20152020.pdf

The CHIP is a five-year strategic plan for the Department of Public Health and community stakeholders to collectively improve the health of all community members. This plan serves as a health improvement agenda that partners from different sectors (e.g. health, education, housing, transportation) can use as a framework for collaboration. The CHIP establishes 10 goals and sets quantifiable targets for improvement in key areas including a reduction in obesity rates, air pollution, violence, and traffic-related injuries, as well as an increase in high school graduation rates and access to safe, quality affordable housing.

Please join the Department of Public Health as we present the CHIP and discuss how we can work together to achieve a healthier Los Angeles County by the year 2020.

Save the Date! November 20, 2015, 9 am – noon

St. Anne’s Conference Center, 155 N. Occidental Blvd., Los Angeles 90026

Please see the attached ‘Save the Date’. We will send out additional information for the November 20th meeting in upcoming weeks.

Public Health is grateful to our many community partners who shared their expertise and commitment with us to develop the CHIP. We look forward to seeing you on November 20th and to partnering with you over the next several years to jointly make a difference in the health of Los Angeles County!
