Powers of Nine

Powers of Nine Art Exhibit

Throughout 2016, Artist Brenda Welsh participated with eight other visual artists in a critique group sponsored by the prestigious Los Angeles Art Association. Each month they visited each other’s studio to discuss and critique new and existing works and to share various ideas and concepts. They have culminated these endeavors into a one-day exhibition called the “Powers of Nine.” The exhibit will be held in Los Angeles on Saturday, February 11, 2017, at GALLERY 913 located at 913 North Highland Avenue. There will be a reception from 3:00 to 6:00pm.

Mc Lean Emenegger of McLean Fine Art will critique our exhibit at a later date. Ms. Emenegger has been an executive Director of several Los Angeles galleries. She has presented hundreds of exhibitions and educational programs with the Center of Cultural Innovation, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, the Santa Monica Museum of Art, UCLA, and the Armory Center for the Arts in Pasadena. As an independent curator, her projects have been reviewed in numerous art publications and in the Los Angeles Times and the Huffington Post.

The painting featured below is from Welsh’s black & white La Negra Series. It received an award at the 7th Annual Juried National Competition in La Jolla, California last year.

If you are in the area, Welsh hopes you will have an opportunity to join her at their “Powers of Nine” exhibit and reception on Saturday, February 11, from 3pm to 6pm.
