lacounty.gov LOS ANGELES COUNTY SHARING TIPS FOR SMALL BUSINESSES TO COMPETE FOR CONTRACTS AT LOCAL, STATE AND FEDERAL LEVEL
The County of Los Angeles Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) is holding a PTAC Summit on Thursday, August 2 at the University of La Verne. Small business owners, consultants, subcontractors and anyone who’s interested in learning more about contracting at the local, state and federal level is encouraged to attend.
The event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the University of LaVerne, Campus Center (3rd floor), 2000 Second Street, La Verne, CA 91750.
“Los Angeles County continues to work towards making the contracting process accessible and attractive for small business owners,” said County of Los Angeles Department of Consumer and Business Affairs Interim Director Joseph M. Nicchitta. “Millions of dollars in government contracts are available for local small businesses of all types, and DCBA can connect you to lucrative opportunities that you may not even know exist.”
The Board of Supervisors strongly believes in government contracting as a means to boost profitability of small businesses. The County of Los Angeles Office of Small Business, part of DCBA, holds several events for new and experienced business owners on the latest opportunities to sell their goods and services to government agencies. Earlier this year, DCBA launched Contracting Centers to help business owners develop skills and viability to get ‘contract-ready’.
Exhibitors attending include:
- Los Angeles County Department of Public Works
- Los Angeles County Internal Services Department
- Metro
- Burns & McDonnell
- Los Angeles Community College District (BuildLACCD)
- California Department of General Services
- General Services Administration
- PCL Construction
- and more.
Guests may RSVP here.
The PTAC Summit is held in collaboration with University of La Verne Small Business Development Center (SBDC). The procurement technical assistance center is funded in part through a PTAP cooperative agreement with the Defense Logistics Agency.
Since 1976, the County of Los Angeles Department of Consumer and Business Affairs (DCBA) has served consumers, businesses, and communities through education, advocacy, and complaint resolution. We work every day to educate consumers and small business owners about their rights and responsibilities, mediate disputes, investigate consumer fraud complaints, and enforce Los Angeles County’s minimum wage ordinance.
