Los Angeles County Public Works recognizes the significance of collaboration and community partnerships in supporting local economic development. Public Works is dedicated to expanding business opportunities for Local Small Businesses (LSBEs), Disabled Veteran Enterprises (DVBEs) and Social Enterprises (SEs). Small businesses help recirculate local dollars back into communities and add to the overall economic stability in Los Angeles County.
Public Works is committed to awarding 25% of our contracts to local small businesses by 2020 and they strive to purchase from local small businesses whenever possible. They have a variety of business opportunities available, ranging from building and infrastructure projects, construction, traffic signal modifications, janitorial services, purchasing opportunities, and more. In addition to the Business Opportunities page, they also maintain a Small Business Event Calendar where they post small business related workshops, events, and trainings (most of which are free or low cost).
