Winter Exhibition is sponsored by Women Painters West. The juror for this exhibit is J. Michael Walker. Mr Walker is a Los Angeles based writer, cultural activist and painter. He has received over twenty fellowships and grants and his work is included in several public and private collections. His numerous exhibitions include a solo at the Autry Museum, the Museo de Artes in Mexico City and the Yale Center of the Arts.
The Opening Reception is on Thursday evening, January 11, 2018 from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the Ebell Los Angeles Gallery located at 741 South Lucerne Blvd.
The first work selected, La Mujer del Fuego, as pictured below, is part of the “Back from The Apple” series that Brenda Welsh (Silver Lake Chamber member with Silver Lake Art Collective) commenced following a lengthy stay in New York City. That series, including this piece, was previously on exhibit at CitiSpace Gallery.
The second work, La Selva Negra, has been exhibited numerous times, including more recently at the Blackboard Gallery in Camarillo, California.
