Silver Lake Plans – L.A. Al Fresco – Phase 2

Co-President Natalie Freidberg to meet on Thursday, September 17 with a representative from the Mayor’s office and an architect to discuss a wish list for Silver Lake Phase 2 dining plazas.

In other L.A. neighborhoods, the City incorporates partial street closures and partners with locals to enhance the areas.

Freidberg is working to bring as many of these alternatives to our Silver Lake and Atwater Village constituents.

To contact the Chamber about the architect, the Department of Transportation or to attend Thursday mornings restaurant roundtable Zoom updates, call or text Natalie Freidberg at president@silverlakechamber.com or (323) 250-9902.

Success!  After months of the chamber working with CD 13 (special thanks to Mary Rodriguez & Christine Peters), the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development (big thanks to Community Business Manager Leila Lee), Ryan Floyd of 33 Taps and Pablo Osorio of Metropolitan Momentum Architecture, we finally have an L.A. Al Fresco Phase 2 dining plaza in the neighborhood. Thanks to this pilot version of the program (pedestrians have a walkway where cars used to park and the restaurants are allowed to use the entire sidewalk), restaurants along this stretch of Sunset Blvd. have expanded outdoor seating and a better chance of surviving this pandemic. Silver Lake foodies and visitors once again have room to be served favorites entrees and beverages at Sunset Junction.
