Important Guidance: Heavy Surge in Cases

RESTAURANTS / WINERIES / BREWERIES / FOOD FACILITIES (i.e. Food Trucks)

Transmission of COVID-19 in Los Angeles County is increasingly widespread.  No part of the County remains unaffected.  Right now the County is experiencing a heavy surge in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations.  Unfortunately, Public Health expects the number of cases and hospitalizations to continue to increase.  Now is the time that we ALL must act to slow the spread of COVID-19.   Accordingly, Public Health has instituted additional restrictions to limit persons from different households being in crowded settings and to limit persons from different households from being in close contact when not wearing a face covering.   For restaurants, food facilities, wineries and breweries this means the following:

  • Outdoor dining and wine service areas must be decompressed in order to limit it to 50% maximum occupancy.  Outdoor dining/wine service maximum occupancy is currently the outdoor areas where tables and sitting areas are positioned at least 6 feet apart.  To help control the surge, outdoor dining/wine service seating must be reduced by at least 50% and increase the outdoor footprint to allow for at least 8 feet of distance between tables.
  • Outdoor in-person dining and wine service now must be closed between the hours of 10:00 pm – 6:00 am.
  • During the hours of closure, and when permitted to operate, delivery, take out, and drive thru services may be offered.
  • Continue to follow all current requirements and infection control protocols contained in Appendix I of the Health Officer Order.

PERSONAL CARE ESTABLISHMENTS

Transmission of COVID-19 in Los Angeles County is increasingly widespread.  No part of the County remains unaffected.  Right now the County is experiencing a heavy surge in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations.  Unfortunately, Public Health expects the number of cases and hospitalizations to continue to increase.  Now is the time that we ALL must act to slow the spread of COVID-19.   Accordingly, Public Health has instituted additional restrictions to limit persons from different households being in crowded settings and to limit persons from different households from being in close contact when not wearing a face covering.   For personal care establishments this means the following:

  • Indoor occupancy is limited to 25% of facility’s maximum capacity.
  • Personal care services may only be offered by appointment to avoid customers waiting in or outside the facility.
  • No food or drink can be offered or served to customers.
  • Customers and staff must wear their cloth face coverings over their nose and mouth at all times.
  • Services that require either the customer or staff member to remove their face covering, such as facials, etc., may not be provided.
  • Continue to follow all current requirements and infection control protocols contained in Appendix R of the Health Officer Order.

CARDROOMS

Transmission of COVID-19 in Los Angeles County is increasingly widespread.  No part of the County remains unaffected.  Right now the County is experiencing a heavy surge in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations.  Unfortunately, Public Health expects the number of cases and hospitalizations to continue to increase.  Now is the time that we ALL must act to slow the spread of COVID-19.   Accordingly, Public Health has instituted additional restrictions to limit persons from different households being in crowded settings and to limit persons from different households from being in close contact when not wearing a face covering.   For cardroom  establishments this means the following:

  • Limits the number of customers permitted in the outdoor areas of the facility to 50% of current outdoor maximum capacity.
  • Continue to follow all current requirements and infection control protocols contained in Appendix Q of the Health Officer Order.

MINIATURE GOLF, BATTING CAGES, AND GO CART RACING

Transmission of COVID-19 in Los Angeles County is increasingly widespread.  No part of the County remains unaffected.  Right now the County is experiencing a heavy surge in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations.  Unfortunately, Public Health expects the number of cases and hospitalizations to continue to increase.  Now is the time that we ALL must act to slow the spread of COVID-19.   Accordingly, Public Health has instituted additional restrictions to limit persons from different households being in crowded settings and to limit persons from different households from being in close contact when not wearing a face covering.   For these establishments this means the following:

  • Limits the number of customers permitted in the outdoor areas of the facility to 50% of current outdoor maximum capacity.
  • Continue to follow all current requirements and infection control protocols contained in Appendix V of the Health Officer Order.

NON-ESSENTIAL RETAIL

Transmission of COVID-19 in Los Angeles County is increasingly widespread.  No part of the County remains unaffected.  Right now the County is experiencing a heavy surge in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations.  Unfortunately, Public Health expects the number of cases and hospitalizations to continue to increase.  Now is the time that we ALL must act to slow the spread of COVID-19.   Accordingly, Public Health has instituted additional restrictions to limit persons from different households being in crowded settings and to limit persons from different households from being in close contact when not wearing a face covering.   For all non-essential retail establishments this means the following:

  • Indoor occupancy is limited to 25% of facility’s maximum capacity.
  • Indoor retail operations now must be closed between the hours of 10:00 pm – 6:00 am.
  • During the hours of closure, and when permitted to operate, retailers may continue to offer delivery or curbside pick-up service.
  • Continue to follow all current requirements and infection control protocols contained in Appendix B of the Health Officer Order.

ESSENTIAL OFFICE-BASED BUSINESSES

Transmission of COVID-19 in Los Angeles County is increasingly widespread.  No part of the County remains unaffected.  Right now the County is experiencing a heavy surge in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations.  Unfortunately, Public Health expects the number of cases and hospitalizations to continue to increase.  Now is the time that we ALL must act to slow the spread of COVID-19.   Accordingly, Public Health has instituted additional restrictions to limit persons from different households being in crowded settings and limit persons from different households from being in close contact when not wearing a face covering.   For essential office-based businesses this means the following:

  • Indoor occupancy is limited to 25% of office-based business’ maximum office space capacity.
  • Continue to follow all current requirements and infection control protocols contained in Appendix D of the Health Officer Order.
  • Note that this restriction does not apply to Healthcare Operations, Essential Infrastructure, or Essential Government Functions.

INDOOR SHOPPING MALLS AND SHOPPING CENTERS

Transmission of COVID-19 in Los Angeles County is increasingly widespread.  No part of the County remains unaffected.  Right now the County is experiencing a heavy surge in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations.  Unfortunately, Public Health expects the number of cases and hospitalizations to continue to increase.  Now is the time that we ALL must act to slow the spread of COVID-19.   Accordingly, Public Health has instituted additional restrictions to limit persons from different households being in crowded settings and to limit persons from different households from being in close contact when not wearing a face covering.   For indoor shopping malls and shopping centers this means the following:

  • Indoor occupancy continues to be limited to 25% of facility’s maximum capacity.
  • Indoor retail operations now must be closed between the hours of 10:00 pm – 6:00 am.
  • During the hours of closure, and when permitted to operate, retailers and food facilities may continue to offer delivery or curbside pick-up service.
  • Continue to follow all current requirements and infection control protocols contained in Appendix E of the Health Officer Order.
