On April 6, 40+ members of the business community heard Councilmember David Ryu address various concerns, including traffic and homeless issues. Many thanks to Jeff Zarrinnam, Hollywood Hotel Owner (and new Chairman of the Hollywood Chamber) for hosting breakfast, Adam Miller of CD4 office for all his support, Co-President Ben Lemon for coordinating the meeting and all those who attended for making it a great event!
At the prompting of Anthony Ghidotti of The UPS Store, Councilmember David Ryu shared from his 15 years of experience addressing homeless issues. He outlined reasons for increased numbers of people experiencing homelessness, such as patient civil liberties and our climate. And, he is encouraged that departments from Federal down to local levels are now more cohesive in providing housing and services. He also spoke to traffic concerns and 15 levels of solutions, with the last being a road diet.
About half of Silver Lake lies in City Council District 4. The balance is in CD13 served Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell.
